Randy Kummler

Chief Executive Officer / Chief Financial Officer
Randy grew up in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, and attended Wayne State University where he earned a BA in Finance and an MBA. Randy has worked in health care for over 35 years in various accounting and finance positions including CFO. He has been with Genesys PHO since 2019 as CFO, and was promoted to his current role as of 2020. Randy’s interests include exercise, sports, investments, financial planning, and spending time with family.

R. Brace Reid

Chief Operating Officer / Compliance Officer
Brace grew up in the Flint area and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and earned his Law degree from Detroit College of Law. Brace began his career with the PHO in 2011 as in-house legal counsel, and transitioned to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer in 2020. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, currently licensed to practice in the State of Michigan, and admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States. Brace’s interests include hunting, fishing, and working with the Humane Society of Genesee County.

Marcia Brandt

Vice President, Medical Management
Marcia grew up in the Flint area and raised her family in Flushing. She is a Registered Nurse with a Nursing degree from Mott Community College and a BA in business from Northwood University. Marcia has worked in health care her entire career and has held a variety of positions including staff RN, manager of outpatient mental health services, and several leadership roles with health insurance companies in Quality, Utilization and Case Management. Marcia worked for Genesys PHO for 8 years leaving in 2012 and then returned in 2018 to assume her current position. Her tenure with the PHO has focused on improving the health of our community and is highlighted by the expansion of the Nurse Care Manager Program, the design of data-driven quality improvement programs, and an exciting partnership which has laid the foundation for our Community Paramedic program. Marcia’s interests include traveling, golfing, boating, snow shoeing, and sewing but mostly spending time with family and friends.

Nate Buchholz

Vice President, Information Systems
Nate grew up along the coast in Virginia, and loves all four seasons. He finished his BS in Management of Information Systems at Baker College. In the 20+ years he has served at the PHO, he brings to the role a wealth of technology leadership, health information security, and strategy experience. Throughout his executive career, Nate has led successful complex digital transformational change and evolution. The hallmarks of his recent tenure are establishing an enterprise architecture capability, modernizing many foundational systems and platforms, and a focus on improved vendor and project management. He has a true passion for data and how data is leveraged to solve problems, improve workflows, and extend value and security to our patients. Nate enjoys time with family and friends. In his spare time, he has also served on the Mott Community College’s Information Technology Advisory since 2013 - his service compliments his interest in digital manufacturing and artificial intelligence.

Wendy Upthegrove

Vice President, Physician Services
Wendy grew up and raised her family in Otisville, MI. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Baker College. With over 25 years working in Healthcare in a variety of settings, she provides the PHO with a unique perspective on success in Provider offices, rising to the challenge of a changing Primary Care environment, and partnering with multiple health plans. Wendy worked for Genesys PHO previously and returned to assume her current position. Wendy has a true passion for working with Providers and offices solving complex issues, establishing best practices and creating multi-disciplinary teams. Her interests include traveling, attending Detroit Tigers games, boating, gardening and spending time with family.
